This triple laser 4K ultra short throw takes full advantage of the advanced ALPD® 4.0 RGB+ technology. This innovative light engine helps give the Formovie Theater some of the best black levels you'll find on a laser TV. The amazing specs found on this UST projector helped the Formovie Theater take 1st place for the 2nd year in a row at the Projector Central/ProjectorScreen.com Laser TV showdown in 2023. Formovie Theater
Why You Should Buy The Formovie Theater
The Formovie Theater is beyond a shadow of a doubt one of, if not the best, ultra short throws available in the marketplace today. The low price, beautiful picture quality and incredible specs make this 4K laser TV difficult to top.
One reason we gave the win to this Formovie ultra short throw is the extra lumen output. When watching content with the lights on, every extra bit of brightness matters. This also helps the Formovie perform brilliantly when watching HDR content.
While we measured better contrast on the Nexigo laser TV, in actual practice when you watch content side by side, the contrast appears more pronounced on the Formovie Theater, allowing you to see more detail, especially in darker scenes.
Another big advantage that helped the Formovie Theater get the win is the level of control you have over the picture. This 4K ultra short throw offers a plethora of calibration options that let you dial in the projector to your liking more than most other units. The wide variable focus allows you to create an image size all the way up to 150 inches. This is a BIG deal for big screen lovers.
If you don't want to use an external sound system, the Formovie Theater features the best built-in soundbar. It offers rich and powerful sound, unmatched by any other UST projector.
The Formovie Theater is no longer the new kid on the block. In fact, in 2022 it became the king of the hill and has still managed to defend its crown at the 2023 UST Showdown. Because of its exceptional contrast, black level, tone mapping and handling of HDR content among other areas of excellence, 5 out of 6 showdown judges picked it as their #1 pick.
Why You Should Buy The Nexigo Aurora Pro
The Nexigo Aurora pro put up a valiant fight in this 1 on 1 projector shootout. And while it didn't get the win for this particular matchup, it should absolutely be the top choice for many customers.
If you're a gamer then the Nexigo Aurora Pro gets a big advantage, with a 17.9ms input lag at 4K/60Hz. This means that your button presses show up on your display that much quicker. In fast paced and competitive video games, every millisecond counts. On top of that, it is one of the very few projectors supporting 4K@120Hz.
For those of you who love 3D movies and games, the Nexigo Aurora Pro's support for 3D content gives it an automatic win.
We're also big fans of the backlit remote. Sometimes small details like this can make a big difference.
If price is the most important factor, then the Nexigo Aurora Pro has a small advantage over the Formovie Theater thanks to a somewhat lower cost and similar value.
