Advanced Aspect-Ratio Control
Automatic black-bar detection, instant aspect-ratio switching, subtitle management and support for custom screen formats.
Premium Video Processing

Advanced madVR Envy Features
Experience industry-leading HDR processing, intelligent aspect-ratio control, advanced calibration and powerful image-enhancement technology.
HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping
madVR Labs pioneered dynamic, frame-by-frame HDR tone mapping. Its patent-pending DTM 2.0 analyzes every frame in real time to optimize every pixel—processing approximately half a billion pixels per second at 4K60. Proprietary Highlight Recovery, Contrast Recovery and Shadow Detail Recovery deliver an exceptionally detailed and lifelike HDR image.
Auto AR and Geometry Control
Envy detects each aspect ratio and instantly adjusts the image to fit your screen, even when the content changes between multiple formats. Envy Extreme also adds advanced geometry correction for anamorphic-lens barrel distortion, curved screens and complex architectural installations.
4K and 8K Upscaling and Sharpening
Proprietary machine-learning algorithms provide premium 4K, 5K and 8K upscaling*, along with advanced anamorphic stretch. Envy also delivers high-quality chroma upscaling from 4:2:0 to 4:4:4 and can reverse damaging chroma processing applied by certain source devices.
Highly Accurate Calibrations
Envy supports massive 256-point 3D LUTs and 4,096-point 1D LUTs without sacrificing measurement data or precision. This provides up to 16.7 million points of accuracy and integrates with professional calibration platforms including ColourSpace, Calman and others.
Image Enhancements
Advanced processing helps reduce compression artifacts, mosquito noise and 8-bit banding. Additional controls allow users to reduce or add film grain, sharpen fine details, improve edges, remove ringing and customize the image to their preference.
Subtitle Handling and Profiles
Dynamic subtitle handling automatically resizes the image only when subtitles would otherwise be cut off on a scope screen, maximizing the picture area whenever possible. The advanced profile system also makes it easy to manage settings for different content, sources and displays.
8K and HDMI 2.1 Support
Envy Extreme supports 8K HDMI 2.1 output with full 48 Gbps bandwidth and HDCP 2.3 support. Its modern hardware platform is designed to support advanced home-theater systems and evolving video formats for years to come.
Non-Linear Stretch NLS+
NLS+ helps remove black bars when displaying 16:9 content on a 2.35:1 screen. The algorithm combines horizontal expansion with vertical compression, distributing the stretch in both directions for a more natural-looking image with less visible distortion.
Simple to Install and Use
Installation can be completed in minutes. Connect the HDMI output from your AV receiver to Envy, then connect Envy’s HDMI output to your display. With permission, an authorized dealer can also connect remotely, view the video output in real time and provide direct support.
*Maximum supported resolution and available features vary by madVR Envy model and configuration.
