I was deciding between epson 5050ub and benq 5550, but i am happy with my decision with epson, esp if you prefer vivid colors and deep black.
This projector has excellent brightness and contrast. Even thought this is not a true 4k projector but I couldn't see any pixel when seating 14ft away. The only downside of this projector is the fan noise. when you run high power consumption the fan noise can loud.

I recently moved into a house with an existing home theater but the projector was shot. The throw from the projector mount to the screen was 20' so I needed a projector that could handle that throw distance for a 120" screen. I received the Epson 5050UB just before Christmas and it works great! I did have to buy a different mount since the projector is heavier and larger than the one it replaced. The picture is great and the features work really well, especially the lens shift for adjusting the picture location on the wall. I would highly recommend this for home theaters with a long throw.
