Power Supply Capacitors

New Large Capacity Power Transformer

Redeveloped digital section

With the addition of a sub-chassis structure on the rear of the front panel, the rigidity of the receiver is increased. This results in a further reduction of vibration and improved sound quality overall.

The newly designed power supply capacitors, developed by Sony, improve stability and achieve superior sound quality.

The redesigned power transformer also features a new core material and bobbin to lower distortion and improve sound quality.

The new digital section enables all signal processing to be performed on a single chip while also providing lower impedance, increased capacitance, and better stability.

Sony exclusive Pre-Amp integrated circuit

Digital PCM signal input is processed at 32-bit and converted to analog by the DAC, while DSD signal input during direct mode is natively input to the DAC and converted to an analog signal.

The DAC analog power supply uses a low- noise power supply IC to ensure that hi-fidelity performance is achieved

A new DAC analog output filter circuit was designed utilizing a JFET and op-amp improvement in noise floor. The phase rotation was shifted to a higher frequency, expanding the bandwidth and improving sound clarity for wide-bandwidth sources like high-resolution audio.

A Sony-exclusive integrated circuit was developed to improve all amplification functions of the STR-AN1000.

Fine Sound Resistor

The special resistance materials and structure, pure copper has been used in the electrodes to achieve high volumes of data with rich, vivid audio quality.

DôME FLAX PACK 5.1 home cinema system

The Dôme Flax Home Cinema speaker pack is a premium product made in France, characterized by its miniature design and "high-tech" concept. Thanks to its Flax cone, a flax-based composite sandwich membrane, this 5.1 system achieves a clear gain in definition and intelligibility for dialogues, as well as wider spatialization thanks to improved frequency response linearity. A true return to the natural sound of your films!

COMPLETE INSTALLATION The five 2-way Dôme Flax satellite loudspeakers are combined with Sub Air. Thanks to its wireless system, this subwoofer frees you from all cable constraints, delivering deep, intense sound. The package will deliver all its performance in rooms of 30 to 40 m2 for musical and cinematic emotions.
	SOUND SPOT The Dôme loudspeakers have a clean, soft design, with a totally smooth, round shape and no visible screws when the cover is fitted. Conceived as an adjustable spotlight, the Dôme is an ideal, discreet sound source for any interior.

TECHNOLOGIES

FLAX MEMBRANE Purity and precision of sound As the key component of a loudspeaker, the membrane is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. After more than five years of research and development, in 2013 Focal unveiled an exclusive membrane made from flax. Patented, this Flax cone is a sandwich made of very high quality French flax Fiber placed between two thin sheets of glass Fiber. It satisfies all the criteria of a high-fidelity membrane: lightness to offer good dynamics, rigidity to hold the bass and damping to deliver a neutral, natural, uncolored sound. It is an emblematic Focal innovation in many hi-fi products.

TWEETER IN AL/MG Treble finesse Membrane shape and materials are essential. For the finest treble, our engineers have patented the inverted dome tweeter, a Focal signature. The inverted dome shape offers the advantage of low directionality and a small-diameter, lightweight coil for better acceleration. As for the materials used, they combine the key points of a good loudspeaker: aluminum increases dome rigidity and reduces distortion, while the addition of magnesium provides excellent damping. The surround that connects the dome to its support uses Poron, a shape-memory material. This surround is derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, and reduces distortion by a factor of three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, where the ear is most sensitive.
