Hisense PX1-Pro

Hisense is a manufacturer known for producing outstanding laser TVs. The Hisense PX1-Pro is one of their best selling ultra short throw projectors on the market. This UST projector is a true RGB triple laser projectors with bright vivid colors and buttery smooth motion handling. Unlike the their other triple laser UST, the Hisense L9G which is designed for more well lit rooms such as a living room, the PX1-Pro is built as more of a home theater projector. Read our review of the Hisense PX1-Pro to get a better idea of this awesome projector.

Hisense PX1

It seemed odd that Hisense released the PX1 several months after unveiling the PX1-Pro and not before or at least at the same time. But it makes more sense when you consider Hisense's quest to make laser TVs available for all types of customers. Their goal was to produce a ultra short throw projector to meet the needs of those more budget conscious consumers. Thus, the triple laser Hisense PX1 was released. While similar, there are a few key differences between the Hisense PX1 and PX1-Pro.

What's the difference between the Hisense PX1 and PX1-Pro?

After reading that side by side comparison you might be saying, "Wait, what's the difference between these two projectors?" And the answer is, not much.

There are four differences between these two projectors.

  • The PX1-Pro is 200 lumens brighter
  • The PX1 is $200 less expensive
  • The PX1-Pro supports Dolby Vision while the PX1 does not
  • The PX1-Pro has a charcoal grey body while the PX1 has a slate blue finish

That's it. Those are the differences between the PX1-Pro and PX1. They're pretty much the same projector.

So Which Is The Better UST, The Hisense PX1 Vs. The Hisense PX1-Pro?

The fact of the matter is these two laser TVs are very similar. Either way you go, you'll get a amazing image and you'll be thrilled with your purchase.

But a winner must be chosen. So between the Hisense PX1-Pro and PX1 the winner of this ultra short throw projector shootout is the………

Hisense PX1-Pro!

Why Buy The Hisense PX1-Pro?

We chose the PX1-Pro as the winner in this head to head because for just $200 more you get a brighter image and Dolby Vision. These two factors give it the edge. The picture quality on both is pretty much the same.
In general, if you want to upgrade your home cinema projector to a triple laser unit, the Hisense PX1-Pro ultra short throw projector is the way to go thanks to its vibrant and more cinematically accurate colors and black levels. Speaking of colors, it has some of the best and most vibrant we've seen in any UST projector. On top of that it offers an incredibly sharp image. Hisense is a highly reliable manufacturer and they do a great job with out of the box performance.

If you're looking for a brighter projector you may want to consider the Hisense L9G. The L9G comes bundled with either a 100 inch or 120 inch UST screen that rejects ambient light.

Why Buy The Hisense PX1?

Like we said. The picture quality is pretty much the same on these two Hisense laser TVs.

The reason to get the PX1 over the PX1-Pro comes down to price and how you plan to use it. If you plan to use your entertainment device only in a darkened cinema room, then the extra brightness is somewhat irrelevant. So if that's the case you can save the $200.

Also if a slate blue projector would better fit the ascetics of the room, then you should get the PX1.
