I had the XGIMI Elfin for about 2yrs before upgrading to the Horizon Pro. Elfin was great, but during daylight saving wasn’t bright enough for the well-lit room it lived in while watching movies in the evening. The speaker was also weak and my bluetooth speaker would lag from my PS5.
Horizon Pro has been great so far. Much brighter and sharper image and colors. I run the brightness at about 4 once it’s dark outside. 6 when when it’s evening. New movies look fantastic, as well as some Criterion DVDs of classics I’ve viewed through my PS5. Watched Malick’s BADLANDS the other night, which I’ve seen at least a dozen times before, and it had never looked better to me. Android interface can be a little slow at first and the Netflix limitation is annoying, though I’m not a big Netflix user. Video games look rich. The stock speakers are a huge improvement and I actually notice the low-end I was completely missing previously. The style is top-notch, as well as the remote. It’s quiet. I haven’t noticed a fan at all.
If I use this as much as I used my Elfin for the next two years (couple hours a night a few times per week), it will be well worth it. My projectors have always impressed my friends and family and I doubt I’ll ever buy another TV. I’m giving this a 4/5 because of the Netflix deal, interface which can be clunky, and I felt like the stock image settings looked worse than what I’ve dialed in on my own. It made everything look like a soap opera.
