About the Spectra Projection Element Gray Screen

Spectra Projection

Spectra Element Gray

A classic matte fixed-frame screen engineered for laser projection and dark-room cinema.

The Spectra Projection Element Gray is a fixed-frame cinema screen designed for viewers who want deeper blacks, stronger contrast, natural color, and wide viewing angles from a modern projector setup. Its 0.9-gain gray surface enhances image depth, while the anti-speckle PVC material makes it especially well suited for laser projectors. Compatible with both ultra-short-throw and standard-throw projectors, Element Gray is ideal for dedicated or controlled-light home theaters where a clean, immersive image and consistent performance across the seating area matter most.

Anti-Speckle Coating

Engineered to reduce the shimmering laser speckle common on ordinary matte surfaces.

Classic Matte PVC

Natural, balanced color reproduction with the neutrality of a purpose-built cinema surface.

0.9 Gain

True cinema-grade neutrality — no hot-spotting, no color shift, no over-brightening.

Element Gray Fabric

Engineered to improve image contrast and black levels while maintaining excellent color accuracy and wide viewing angles.

UST + Standard Throw

Wide compatibility with both ultra-short-throw and standard-throw projector setups.

Dark Room Cinema

Optimized for controlled-light rooms where deep black levels and honest color matter most.

Built for Laser

Speckle-Resistant for Modern Laser Projectors.

Ordinary matte screens amplify the shimmering laser speckle you see on RGB triple-laser projectors. The Element’s custom PVC formulation is engineered to diffuse laser light more uniformly, softening speckle without dulling the picture.

The result: cleaner text, smoother gradients, and less visual fatigue during long viewing sessions — especially at close throw distances where speckle is most obvious.

Natural Color

Colors the Way the Director Saw Them.

A 0.9 gain surface reflects light back at close to unity, meaning color, contrast, and black levels arrive at your eye almost exactly as your projector intended — no hot-spotting, no shifted skin tones, no over-cooled whites.

For enthusiasts running a color-calibrated projector, that neutrality is the point. The Element gets out of the way and lets the projector do its job.

Compare Surfaces

Matte White vs. Element Gray

Matte White

Gain 1.0
Strength Maximum Brightness
Best For Dark Rooms
Viewing Experience Bright & Natural

Element Gray

Gain 0.9
Strength Higher Contrast
Best For Dedicated or Controlled-Light Home Theaters
Viewing Experience Deeper Blacks & More Depth

Works With Both UST and Standard-Throw Projectors.

Because the Element uses a diffusive matte surface rather than an angle-dependent lenticular structure, it works equally well whether your projector is inches from the wall or ceiling-mounted across the room. One screen, both setups.

Element Gray is not an ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen. It improves perceived contrast and black levels in dedicated or light-controlled rooms. While it enhances image quality, it is not designed to reject ambient light.

Frame & Finish

Expert Craftsmanship That Matches Your Budget.

The Spectra Projection Element Gray is thoughtfully built with both style and function in mind.

Its slim 0.47-inch edge gives the screen a wider, more expansive appearance, drawing you deeper into your favorite movies, shows, and video games. The luxurious black velvet frame does more than lend a touch of class to this affordable projector screen—it also absorbs stray light, making it easier to align your UST projector with the cinema screen.

Precision mitering creates flawless 45-degree corners for a perfect fit that's simple to assemble, with no unsightly cap connectors anywhere on the screen.
