100 ICW6-T 2-way coaxial speaker
Designed and developed in France by Focal, the 100 ICW6-T loudspeaker is composed of a 5" (13cm) midrange speaker driver with Polyglass cone and a 1" (25mm) Aluminium tweeter. Like all the products in the 100-T Series, it has an adjustable transformer which adjusts the power for a 70 volt/100 volt system. The transformer thus makes it possible to link the loudspeakers together and cover a vast listening area!
The 100 ICW6-T speaker driver also has very low directivity, which removes any"shower effect" and creates high-quality, uniform sound throughout the whole space. Compact and with a round or square ready-to-paint grille, the 100 ICW6-T is easy to install and discreet wherever it is positioned.
BALANCED SOUND DIFFUSIONThe loudspeaker features a compact, directional tweeter and a Polyglass diaphragm driver for defined, spatial highs and mids. A crossover reduces the sound's "shower effect". In addition, the treble level can be equalized according to the acoustics of your room, via a choice of three available positions. |  |

POLYGLASS MEMBRANEWell-defined midsThe diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register. |
INVERTED DOME TWEETEROptimum space dispersionThe inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What's more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialization and further enhance the inverted dome's very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage. |
