Pair it with a screen

Keep the picture rich with the lights on

A regular white screen bounces every lamp and window in the room back at you, so blacks turn gray and colors wash out. Spectra Shadowscape's ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) surface keeps room light from washing out the image, so a bright projector looks like a big TV, even in the daytime.

Side-by-side in the same room light: Spectra Shadowscape on the left shows deep contrast and color, a conventional white screen on the right looks washed out
Same image, same room light. Left: Spectra Shadowscape. Right: a conventional screen.
  • Deeper blacks and richer color in a lit room. Excellent ambient-light resistance and higher contrast, without giving up projector brightness.
  • Made for RGB triple laser. Reduced laser speckle, so the C3's triple laser looks clean and smooth.
  • 170° viewing angle. Everyone on the couch sees the same picture.
  • 4K, 8K, HDR and 3D ready. A 0.6-gain gray surface tuned for contrast.

Best match: C3 Ultra Max + Shadowscape. A contrast-first 0.6-gain screen wants a bright projector, and the Ultra Max's 5,000 ANSI lumens is the brightest C3. Every C3 is also sold as a ready-made bundle with a Shadowscape screen.

FAQ

Good questions

Which C3 model should I choose?

All three show the same 4K triple-laser picture, so choose by room light and placement. The Pro (3,000 ANSI lumens) suits rooms you can darken. The Ultra (4,000) adds 1,000 lumens for rooms with lamps or some window light. The Ultra Max (5,000) is the brightest, with a 2x zoom and the widest lens shift, for bright rooms, the largest screens and awkward placement.

What is the same on all three models?

The RGB triple laser light source with 118% BT.2020 color, 4K UHD resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and IMAX Enhanced, the 7-level IRIS, 240Hz gaming support, 56W Devialet audio, the VIDAA smart TV platform and 65" to 300" image sizes.

How big a picture can the C3 make?

All three support images from 65" to 300". The Pro and Ultra have a 1.6x zoom (0.9–1.5:1 throw ratio). The Ultra Max has a 2x zoom (0.85–1.7:1), so it fits the widest range of distances from the screen.

Do the C3 projectors have built-in sound?

Yes. Every C3 has a 56W 2.1-channel Devialet audio system with Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual:X, so you can use it without a separate sound system.

Are they good for gaming?

Yes. All three have HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rate from 48Hz up to 240Hz at 1080p, FreeSync Premium and latency as low as 1ms.

Can I buy a screen with the projector?

Yes. Each C3 model is available as a bundle with a Spectra Shadowscape ALR fixed frame screen. Open the projector's product page to see the bundle options.
