Dôme Flax is equipped with the innovative natural flax composite sandwich diaphragm that has already proved its worth on Aria Evo X high-fidelity speakers and Car Audio Performance kits.

PERFECT INTEGRATION With a diameter of just 14 cm, Dôme is discreet. It can be placed on a shelf or mounted on a wall or ceiling, for a flexible choice of installation. Round in shape, its design is functional, sophisticated and uncluttered. It comes with black or white lacquer finishes for an elegant, timeless signature.

HOME CINEMA EXPERIENCE Compatible with the Sub Air subwoofer, the Dôme Flax 5.1 or 2.1 system is the ideal solution for living-room sound systems. These compact loudspeakers are the perfect allies for enjoying your films. Designed as an adjustable "sound spot", they are also an ideal source of music for any living space between 30 and 40 m2. For an even more immersive experience, Dôme Flax complements floorstanding loudspeakers like Aria Evo X, in-wall or in-ceiling solutions (1000 Series, 300 Series, 100 Series) or Sub Air, an active subwoofer.

FLAX MEMBRANE Purity and precision of sound As the key component of a loudspeaker, the membrane is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. After more than five years of research and development, in 2013 Focal unveiled an exclusive membrane made from flax. Patented, this Flax cone is a sandwich made of very high quality French flax Fiber placed between two thin sheets of glass Fiber. It satisfies all the criteria of a high-fidelity membrane: lightness to offer good dynamics, rigidity to hold the bass and damping to deliver a neutral, natural, uncolored sound. It is an emblematic Focal innovation in many hi-fi products.

TWEETER IN AL/MG Treble finesse Membrane shape and materials are essential. For the finest treble, our engineers have patented the inverted dome tweeter, a Focal signature. The inverted dome shape offers the advantage of low directionality and a small-diameter, lightweight coil for better acceleration. As for the materials used, they combine the key points of a good loudspeaker: aluminum increases dome rigidity and reduces distortion, while the addition of magnesium provides excellent damping. The surround that connects the dome to its support uses Poron, a shape-memory material. This surround is derived from the famous Utopia Beryllium tweeter, and reduces distortion by a factor of three between 2000 Hz and 3000 Hz, where the ear is most sensitive.
