    Black grid anti-light principle

The surface has a finely engraved toothed grid that only provides targeted reflection of the incident beam of the projector at a specific angle. Non-imaged ambient light is absorbed by the light-absorbing coating on the other side of the toothed grid and no diffraction occurs. Because the color reproduction of the black grid is as high as 99%, Even during the day, you don’t need to close the curtains, you don’t need to turn off the lights, you can still have a saturated, richly-lit projection screen.

Black grid screen and Matt white screen comparison

The special micron-scale grid structure on the surface of the black grid screen blocks the upper interference light source, and the light source of the ultra-short-throw projector below is reflected in parallel, and the image quality is clearer and brighter. The ordinary matte white screen is made of ordinary PVC material, which is rough in workmanship and only works better than white wall.

Indoor glare light environment during the day

Grandview ALR screen and other brands ALR screen comparison

Use Grandview black grid ALR screen can reduce the influence of ambient light and effectively improve brightness and contrast. The picture performance is clearer and brighter. other brands ALR screen have poor light resistance, and color saturation reduces the viewing effect.

    140° wide viewing angle

120-inch large screen is more than 140 °of viewing angle, complete coverage of the home theatre viewing area, 12MM ultra-narrow bezel design, the screen is outstanding, with the use of laser ultra-short-throw projector, can achieve the giant screen laser TV effect.

Instructions barely useful. The number of screws included don't align to the instructions. The instructions don't indicate which screws to use throughout assembly. Once assembled, the screen looks and works great for our setup. We have a very bright area with several windows that get a lot of light and are using the Samsung LSP9T UST projector.
Really nice screen but the worst instructions!!!

The screen is fantastic! The picture quality even during day time is great (not tv quality, but decent enough to watch) and night Time is like watching in a movie theater. But the instructions are one of the worst.

They were written by someone whose language skills need to be improved.

They need to have better diagrams and for wall mounting, the basic thing I expected was a template I could stick to the wall and use for drilling holes etc... just figuring out the right areas to drill holes took couple of hours.

The instructions on constructing the screen could be better as well.

I had to do a lot of trial and error to get it right and in the process damaged the screen material slightly at the corners.

I would recommend the screen to others but beware that unless you are a pro, it will take sometime to figure out what exactly has to be done.

Beautiful and functional screen, a b**** to assemble

Other reviewers weren't kidding in their description of what a challenge this is to assemble. And yes, I did download the really detailed step by step directions, which were extremely helpful. I would have been lost without them, and had them up on my iPad during the assembly process. I'm not sure what genius level the folks who described it as being a one hour job are at, but I'm a tech guy and also handy around the house, and it took me easily 3 hours even with the help of my wife. If I'd had somebody stronger and and more handy it probably would have gone more quickly, but there are some steps (stretching the fabric on the frame) where they are quite specific that you need to have two people working in tandem. I will say that the final result was perfect, no ripples or misfitted frame pieces. I would also say that the manufacturer does a nice job of providing bonus extra hardware in case of missing pieces, which in my case there were.

I also second those who have commented that you should do the hanging of the screen and the final positioning of the UST projector at the same time, since any minor change with one affects the optimal positioning of the other. And the mounting is for sure a two person job -- my wife wasn't physically up to it, so I hired a strong guy to help. Mounting and fine tuning the positioning took about an hour.

For the chemically sensitive: the screen fabric outgassed in a fairly noxious way the first 24 hours, but that cleared up quickly.

The final result is quite lovely -- the fabric has a subtle pearlescent sheen that changes depending on your angle of view, and it looks so much better on my wall than the Day-Lite pull down screen that I previously had there. And it retains much more brightness than my previous screen and projector combo when there is ambient light, though I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's equal to a regular backlit TV screen in that setting. But in a fully darkened room it's perfect.

Overall I'm quite happy with the purchase. I'm docking one star just for the aggravation factor of the assembly, though I also get that there's no economical way that it could be shipped fully assembled.
    Awesome screen for my UST

While the screen did take a little longer to assemble than the salesperson told me it would, the final product came out awesome. I've tried it with both my older P2 and my new LSP9T and both projectors look outright amazing; much better than with my older plain white screen.

I was blown away at well this works with lots of ambient light. My home theater room is the worst in regards to ambient light bouncing around. I have tan walls, whitish tile floor. I had been living with my Epson with a Stewart Firehawk screen that was roughly eleven years old. I never had a need to replace it. This is paired with the Optoma P1.

Even in ideal conditions (bat cave), the image still looks much better on this screen due to the way it reflects light. My main reason for picking Grandview over some of the lower priced models like the Elite Aeon CLR, xyscreens, vividstorm and other screen manufacturers is due to this screen being able to resolve pixels at 4k. The lower end models can't do this and advertise as "4K-Ready". This means nothing, just like companies selling HDMI 2.1 "ready" cables when the specs aren't final. Attached are some images and videos of during the day with all lights on and one with all lights off. This was shot during the middle of the day so there is light coming through the bay windows. SI and Da-lite were out of my price range.

I can't speak enough about the customer server from projectorscreen. It's a much different experience then dealing with bigger name retailers. I highly recommend calling/emailing them if you have any questions. I ended up talking to there main PJ guy for around 45 minutes, I initially had two questions but he went into great detail on the differences in brands/prices, ect.. Extremely honest and didn't try to push me towards the SI or Da-lite like most retailers would.

I had a minor imperfection in the individual screen material. The new material arrived in less than a week after contacting projectorscreen. Please note that the picture and videos attached are BEFORE the screen material was replaced. Any imperfections where fixed with the replacement.

I don't buy expensive audio/video equipment often but my next purchase will be from here. I had never heard of Grandview and I feel like part of the price difference is due to lack of marketing which reduces costs to the user. Get a sample, compare it to others and make up your own mind. You won't be disappointed with this screen though, that I can guarantee.

The purchase process was very good. The salesman was helpful and offered good advice about pairing the SAMSUNG LRP9 short-throw projector with a suitable screen. The problem was the delivery – it took almost 4 weeks due to some “shipping backlog in Chinese port”. The screen was extremely well packed. Even though the box was long and damaged in some parts, the contents were well protected.

A complete inventory of parts showed that all parts were included. The biggest problem was the assembly instructions. They were just totally confusing. This is the second large screen that I was assembling, so I was familiar with the general process. The video on the projectorscreen.com website was helpful. In any case, it took me about an hour and half to assemble the screen.

It was later that I discovered a better link labeled “Supporting Documentation” on the same webpage, that was far better and more understandable for instructions on assembling the screen. Wish I knew about this link earlier, I could have finished the job in an hour! Be warned, this screen is HEAVY and will require two persons to hang it on the wall. After hanging the screen, the major disappointment was a wrinkle in the fabric on the top corner. So we had to remove the screen off the wall multiple times and recheck all the tension springs, I was able to get the wrinkle to settle down to a point where we could tolerate it. It is still very much there, but less noticeable!

A disappointment after paying a high price for the screen. After final adjustments to the projected picture, I can confidently say that screen allows us to watch movies with the doors and windows to our media room open. There is a good color “pop” and the screen does a good job of rejecting ambient light.

    Great Experience

The screen took a few hours to assemble and mount on the wall. It's not complicated, just time consuming. Make sure to follow the instructions in sequence. The image in my living room during the day with the screen directly across from 4 floor to ceiling windows is really impressive.
The order experience from projectorscreen.com couldn't have been better.

I'll start out by saying that projector screen.com has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. They're a knowledgeable sales staff, and the owner, Brian, has great customer relation skills.

That being said, the screen is a pain to put together. However, the end result is phenomenal. The picture clarity is amazing, and I think you would find it difficult to compare it with other screens. I was originally looking at elite screens, aeon, and some foreign made items. I'm very glad I went with this one. I docked one star from the review because the instructions that come with this are written by somebody that English is a fourth or fifth language. I'm not sure if this was ever even peer-reviewed by somebody on the English speaking side. They may have changed the instructions by this point, but when I was putting it together I had a horrible experience.

Not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty handy with things. So, after reading the instructions, I kind of had to piece together what the instructions actually meant and go from there. The mounting system for this was horrible. I think it could have been executed in a different way that would have made this much easier. A rail system with easier adjustments would have been a great idea.

Now, the reason it's got four stars instead of any less was because the picture is absolutely amazing. Paired with the Optoma P2 this screen blows your mind. I've had so many people get lost looking at my TV. When they see the wall, they have no clue that the screen is going to turn into a mirage of images that would cause even the most anti-electronic person to take third and fourth glances. I attribute this to the projector itself, my expert calibration of course, and the craftsmanship of the screen.

Even though the installation of the product is maddening, the end result is so worth it. If you're looking for a screen, give projector screen.com a call. They'll steer you in the right direction. If you don't want to call, just buy this screen. You will not be disappointed in the end even if there's plenty of cursing in between. Some quick tips. Get the stand that you want for your projector, or at least the height of the stand first. Then, put an image of a test pattern on the wall. Mark the test pattern with tape. This will be where you install the actual screen. prior to installing the screen make sure that everything is level and square to where you want it with the test pattern. If you don't do this, say if your floors aren't level, or your ceiling isn't square, you will end up with a lopsided image. It'll still look fantastic, but it's not going to be square with your room if you're sailing or your floors off. I know from experience.

Once you have everything set up, I'd rather live with an unsquare looking setup, then try to re-level the screen and change my projector stand level. Trust me, get the stand, The projector, and the test pattern exactly where you want it on the wall first. Then you can begin assembly and mounting.

Oh yeah, if you think you're doing this in a couple hours, good luck. Block out about 5 hours or more if You have problems assembling things. I did everything slowly and precisely, and I'm thinking it took about 5 hours. I still messed up. Good luck, it's worth it in the end.

The picture on the screen is phenomenal, but the screen was quite difficult to put together (even with professionals trying to put it together) and I couldn't even get the decorative frame to align properly, so I left it off (and it's completely unnecessary in my opinion anyway). I think for the money though, it's an excellent deal; and I'm not sure how difficult other screens of similar quality are to put together.

Service from ProjectorScreen was excellent as the screen had "ruffles" in the corners initially and Brian provided very prompt assistance in getting rid of them (and this step was not difficult to do).

First time owning a UST projector (vava 4k) and decided to go with the grandview PE-L120DY3(R2) Dynamique ALR screen. Shipping was longer that ideal, but understandable. Received the package in good condition and contents were secure and well packaged. Installation was easy except that the package came with 2 less screws. Hanging the screen was straightforward. Picture quality is great at night, but so so during the day. Overall, happy with purchase. Thanks!

The screen is great - much easier to pit together than previous posts suggest. Be sure to use the long form instructions (PowerPoint) and not just the paper instructions in the box. Brian from projectorscreen.com is the man - awesome advice and communication. The screen was significantly delayed - ProjectorScreen.com kept me updated and it was not their fault; a cleaning kit was promised by the manufacturer because of the delay, but was not included in the box I received.
