I purchased an Optoma CinemaX Pro from you two years ago. I use it with a 120" Elite Starbright CLR screen and I absolutely love it. I use it in a dedicated theater room and almost exclusively use it for watching movies. My only complaint is that it is getting outdated with it's HDMI connections and lack of HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Based on your recommendation I purchased an Awol Vision 3500 thinking it would be an excellent upgrade for the long term. Unfortunately the image was awful compared to the Optoma, particularly the laser speckle in general, but particularly while watching older films with proper film grain.
The AWOL is literally unwatchable in comparison. I see practically zero laser speckle on the Optoma. The 3D performance was top notch. I suspect the glasses helped cut down on the speckle issue and allowed the sharpness and color shine through.
By far the best in-home 3D I have seen from a projector.
Incidentally I should mention that I tested a 2500 first and it was too dim compared to my optoma so wasn't worth the upgrade. However the laser speckle issue, while noticeable, wasn't as jarring as on the 3500, which is why I gave the 3500 a shot. The 2500 looked decent, but was simply too dim resulting in poorer apparent black levels and contrast, especially for a projector of that price.
