With more than four times the resolution of Full HD, 4K offers 8.8 million pixels for a picture that?s so incredibly lifelike, it?s like looking at the real thing. Every detail is perfectly clear, with less jagged edges and visible pixels than on a conventional Full HD projector.

This projector supports DCI-based 4K (4096 x 2160), the standard adopted by Digital Cinema Initiatives for professional cinema distribution. Up to 60 frames per second are displayed in 4K for smoother pictures with unrivaled depth.

With 4K resolution, you can sit closer to the screen without compromising depth and realism. The best viewing position for 4K is at a distance of approximately 1.5 times the height of the projector screen (PH), compared to 3 times the height of the screen for Full HD.

Mastered in 4K
The ‘Mastered in 4K’ collection includes classic films,remastered with enhanced colour and detail for Blu-ray Disc. Play these discs on the VPL-VW350ES with a pixel resolution and colour range that’s almost identical to the 4K original. The movie is down-sampled from the original 4K source at a high bitrate to 2K, then upscaled using the same algorithm to 4K.?

Advanced SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) panels include a highly reflective liquid crystal layer (in blue) and an alignment layer without bevelled corners and contact divots (in yellow) for an ultra fast response rate of 2.5 milliseconds. Space is minimised between pixels to give dot-free pictures with deep contrast.

A built-in 3D transmitter synchronises any RF 3D glasses with the projector, so you canstart watching 3D movies quicker.
