So...I installed the replacement projector, turned it on, and NO focus/lens issues and everything else looked pretty darn good too. Love it! You know, I've demo'd a Sony full 4k 665 in a light controlled environment on what appeared to be a black diamond screen and this JVC X750 still pounces on it on a white screen in terms of contrast. I don't even know where to start. This screen is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. 4K, HDR, 3D, everything I have thrown at it looks amazing. I have always used fixed screens when I could and then motorized ceiling drop screens in other places. However, after purchasing a new house with cathedral ceilings, I didn't want anything taking up the wall behind the entertainment center and leave some room for artwork for my wife.
